As part of Rock around the Blockade's contribution to the Worldwide Days of Action for the Cuban 5, our intrepid cyclists braved wind, rain, hailstones, thunder and lightning to complete the 35 mile sponsored ride in Essex on 1 October. Congratulations to the puncture repair team who got quicker and slicker at getting the bikes back on the road as the number of punctures rose to seven! Thank you to our photographer. And well done to everyone who finished the ride still smiling! Now the task of collecting in the sponsorship money... If anyone needs photographic evidence then here it is! Email office@ratb.org.uk. Send cheques, payable to Rock around the Blockade, to BCM Box 5909, London WC1N 3XX

On 27 August 12 RATB supporters from Manchester braved potentially turbulent weather conditions for a 10-mile sponsored walk up Kinder Scout in the Peak District. We raised over ?200 towards the sound system for the youth of Guantanamo. See www.manchesterfrfi.co.uk for more info on work in Manchester.

"Many thanks to comrades and everyone who sponsored us for todays Pedal for Scotland cycle. You will all be glad to know that we did it in good time with surprisingly no injuries! 64 miles all in. Much respect to our man KM, who completed the cycle in a pair of jeans and took away the 'king of the mountains' title.

Venceremos!

Scott."
